The opening ceremony was presided over by Deputy Secretary General Gao Huanzhi of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association. On behalf of the Association, Gao expressed his warm welcome to the present guests and gave sincere gratitude to the relevant organizations that organized and supported the previous sessions. Academician Huang Boyun of Central South University and Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Professor Zhou Kezhao, Vice President of Zhongnan University, delivered speeches on behalf of the respective organizers. Also present were Vice Director Zhang Zhefeng from the Institute of Metals Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Vice President Zhang Fucheng of Yanshan University, Vice President Wei Shizhong of Henan University of Science and Technology, and Vice Chairman Wang Zhun of Changsha Association for Science and Technology.

After the opening ceremony, in view of the fact that our material industry is still lagging behind the developed countries and that the top industries are still heavily dependent on imports, the experts made reports and proposed that in-depth efforts should be made to the application in the future material industry by changing the current situation of research papers based on quantity but quality.
