1. Background Information

China has abundant bauxite resources, about 3.7 billion tons, ranking seventh among 49 countries where bauxite is known to exist. The application field of bauxite ore is very large, It is roughly divided into two aspects: metal and nonmetal, Metal is the best raw material for the production of metal aluminum, but also the most important application field. the proportion of non-metallic uses is small, but the use is very wide, such as refractory grinding materials chemicals and raw materials of high aluminum cement. Due to the large variety of bauxite samples, different sources, and large variation in the content range of each element, a set of analytical methods have to be re-established for each mineral species, with a heavy and cumbersome workload. XRF analysis of bauxite samples can be applied to the analysis of various types of bauxite samples, it can give full play to the maximum efficiency of the instrument, improve the adaptability of analysis methods,and it  has been set up in many laboratories. At present, most bauxite ores are tested by pressing and melting methods. Compared with the traditional low-pressure tablet sample preparation, the melting sample preparation can eliminate the grain size effect and mineral effect of the sample, and also reduce the absorption and enhancement effect between the sample elements, so as to improve the analysis accuracy and accuracy of the method with wide applicability. Recently, Ruishenbao received a large steel enterprise analysis and testing research center commissioned trial production of bauxite samples, The sample was prepared by FSC-01 automatic fusion machine.

Li2B4O7，LiBr solusion（30%）.

3. Sample preparation

Weigh 7g anhydrous lithium tetraborate and place it in a platinum crucible, Add 0.7g of the calcined sample and mix well, add 9 drops of LiBr solution. the prepared sample is loaded into the crucible frame of the molten prototype. Set melting temperature to 1050 ,The melting time is 5 minutes, the swing time is 30 minutes, the rest time is 45 seconds before dumping and 5 seconds after dumping, and then start running. After the program is completed, the mold containing the sample is taken out and placed on the refractory plate until it is condensed and stripped. Then the sample is labeled and stored in vacuum drying.
